There are more than 750,000 robots that sort, lift, and carry packages

Since its founding in 2012, Amazon Robotics has designed, produced, and deployed more than 750,000 robots across its operations network. These advanced robotic systems work alongside employees to make their tasks safer, easier, and more efficient, ultimately speeding up package delivery for customers.

A prime example of this innovation is Amazon’s cutting-edge fulfillment center in Shreveport, Louisiana, which leverages eight different robotics systems working in sync to optimize package sorting, lifting, and transportation.

These robots utilize Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing to process and store large volumes of data from sensors, cameras, and machine operations, further improving efficiency. Looking ahead, Amazon plans to expand these robotics systems across its existing fulfillment centers, continuing to push the boundaries of automation in logistics.
